Hey, I'm kinda wondering what a good price would be for:

    2009 V6 Pre Runner Access Cab 2WD A/T w/-

Tow Pkg, alloy wheels, upgraded audio, daytime running lights and SR5 pkg

I can't find an invoice price anywhere online since they just got out.
    The dealer's MSRP is 26,103.

What should I really be shooting for?

As far as price goes. My truck's MSRP was around 29,900. I got it for 26,300.

500 over invoice. But i got a 500$ gas card. So it equaled out for me.

But every dealer is different, ive read post on here where people are getting them for under invoice somehow.

Tell them you will only pay a couple hundred over invoice and demand a bed mat (your gonna want it). If your dealer does not oblige you, remind them that their are other dealers out there that will.

The number I'm thinking of starting with is 23,500. Invoice prices aren't listed anywhere, so I had to do some rough math. I used 08 invoice prices to price it out with the options, adjusted (approx) for the increase in price of 08-09, and tried to save room for tax. I want that to be my bottom line.

    Any other thoughts?

Will they tell me the invoice price if I ask outright?

I should probably mention I'm 19 and this is going to be my first buy haha.

Fightingchance.com has lots of answers, it's worth the service
Edmunds.com or consumer reports can give you an invoice price.
Auto brokers are good to try out

I hope you have a good down payment $5000+... Being 19 and not having much of a credit score is going to make things a challange getting a rock bottom price.

Unless of course you plan on paying cash for the whole thing on the spot.

I'm making the deal, as it will be my vehicle, but my parents are going to be the title holders. You don't find credit scores any better than what they've got. The downpayment will depend on the total, but it will be a sufficient amount.

Also there is NO invoice price online for the '09. Not on Edmunds, not anywhere. I've looked. The only pricing information is that loose range of MSRPs that Toyota put out as the press release. The '09 isn't even on toyota.com yet.

Unless you have terrible credit you might want to compare the monthly payment that your parents can get and the one that you can get.

It probably won't be TOO much different, and it wouldn't be a bad way to start building a better credit score.

    Welcome, and Roll Tide, btw.

Well I wasted several hours of my life trying to get that dealership to take me seriously.

    Back to the drawing board...

    War Eagle, friend!
