I just wanted to poll the experts here and get some opinions on the price of a 2004 Double Cab TRD Limited I'm looking at. It's a 4x4 with leather interior, pw, pd, automatic, 3.4L, soft bed cover. It has 146k miles and appears to be in good shape with the frame having been recently recoated. The price on it is 14,900. Here is a picture. Thanks for the help!

Leather was not offered on the limite unless it was a dealer installed.just make sure it has the locker and have everything checked out.

Ok, thanks. I know a lot of people on here know these trucks inside and out and could maybe share some key things to inspect.

Check the VIN with Toyota to see if the frame was checked by them and warrantied. If it was just coated by a random shop it will not be covered. As mentioned before, make sure it is actually a TRD by looking for a rear locker (RR diff lock button and protruding actuator on the diff itself). There isn't really anything else to check besides the normal used vehicle checks (leaks, front end play, suspension, brakes, etc)

Looks like a really clean truck, $15k is expensive but they are getting harder and harder to come by in good shape.

Just to give you an idea, I paid 15k with 124K miles, SR5 package, 4x4. Did not have TRD package, 1 owner. I paid this in January. So far I'm about 1600 dollars in maintenance, most of the work done myself, except for the timing belt. Also log in to toyota website and check for recalls or maintenance records, you will need the vin#.

I would like to add my truck did not have any door dings or scratches very well kept inside and out. He had the seats covered by the dealer with some seat covers and also added the transmission cooler when he got it, so the transmission is silky smooth.

Great information, guys. I really appreciate it. This one claims to have had the timing belt and water pump changed at 110k miles. I agree, Snowman, these are hard to come by anymore. I've been looking for about 6 months now. Maybe this one will pan out and I can list mine that I currently have for sale on here.

Well, that was golden advice. I checked the VIN through Toyota and it was brought in by the owner on 3/19/15 to a dealership in New Hampshire for them to assess the frame. They indicated the frame had holes and patchwork done. Of course, they wouldn't touch it and the recall has expired, so it's no good.

I don't think is a good deal once they putted the coiting on top know the fleckly rust issues coming from the inside not visible now , rust is like cancer and coated you will see it too late, not an easy subject, I will not invest that much money on it either. " JayScott812"...just IMO.
