Are you getting the V6 Pentastar in that Wrangler?

I had a 2009 with the 3.8 and it sucked... no power and felt as if you were pushing and pulling a barn door. And as far as fuel economy (not that anyone buying a Jeep should even be concerned), worse than any other vehicle I've owned. However, great fun once I had the top and doors off--reminded me of my old piece of crap CJ7. Hope the new 3.6L works out for these new Jeeps.

    Good luck.

On the 2012 I think they redesigned the motor to an over head cam and it's making more horse power. I thinks it's for either the 2012 or the 2013 not sure

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
4 or 2 door? I can assure you will be back, if you get the automatic in that thing, prepare yourself for the possibility of tranny problems in the near future! This was one of the things that deterred me from the Jeep Wrangler, but mainly the underpowered 3.8 V6 engine, if they kept the 4.0 Inline 6 they used for ages, I would have gotten one! I am venturing to bet my as well as your 2.7 liter four makes more power than the 3.8, will be a fun summer rig though! Nothing like driving down the road on a nice day with the top and doors off!

Get the manual trans there way better than automatic the manual trans are better because they can handle bigger tires

Almost made that exact change a month ago. Talked myself out of it (g/f wrecked her car). The new motor in the Wrangler's supposed to be pretty sick. Had 2 YJ's, 2 Toyota Pickups, and my tacoma. Someday I'll have a CJ to go with the Taco....someday. Enjoy it when the tops down.

The V6 they are now putting in the Wrangler puts out more HP than a 4.0 Taco. I haven't driver one yet, but I plan on it.

yep finally the wrangler has some balls. and low end torque. the pentastar 6 cylinder is a great engine, i drove a durango with it and was impressed even in that heavy thing. it is still a pig on gas, but nobody who drives a wrangler really gives a crap about gas mileage anyway. i gave up my 2 door rubicon to get my current taco, but i'd grab a 4 door wrangler with the pentastar and a 6 speed manual in a hearbeat as my other vehicle.

good luck OP. send us some pix of the new ride.

Agreed! I had a '08 and had 35's on it.. That thing couldn't pull out into traffic. Doors off with bikini top was amazing... right up until your caught out in a huge thunder storm and your riding home late at night.. then once again it sucks.

I pulled all the carpet out to stop the mildew and rust, but then the heat of the engine was really bad in the cab.

The rear drive shaft blew out after a week of owning it... needless to say i had it for three summer months..

    Good luck!

I traded in an '08 4 Door Sahara for my Taco last year, was never so happy to see a vehicle go, was in for warranty repairs 17 times in 3 years. The new 3.6 is a bit peppier than the 3.8 but its got nothing on the 4.0 I6 last used in the tj's or the 4.0 V6 in the Tacoma. Like many have already said the best part of having a jeep is cruising with the top down and doors off, theres no other feeling quite like it.Unfortunately thats where the good feelings stop lol. Good luck man, hopefully you have better luck with yours than I did.
