adding an update with snow experience... we got about 6'' about 3 days ago with a lot of the back roads having ice under that snow... i had no trouble in 2wd in getting to work in my taco with these tires on it and going easy...

however at work i have ben useing a '08 nissan frontier v6 with fairly new kumho road venture A/T's on it recently (company vehicle) and was unable to go a few of the places i had the same day in my taco in 2wd even though i was in 4hi in the nissan (partly due to the @#$% touchy throttle on the nissan)... today it was starting to melt and is slightly slushy but very packy/nasty.
the authority's dig through the white stuff with only a little spin where the kumho's spin on top and will not dig but once they break loose only slick the spot more.
    very impressed!

So, I finally decided to get these tires and I check the website and see that they went from $153 to $180. That really upsets me, I don't know if I want to pay that much lol.

you get what you pay for!
i understand about cost tho!...i most times end up buying only 2 at a time when i get new tires as i never have the $ to spend to get all 4 at once and refuse to compromise on quality ''where the rubber meets the road''...

Oh I understand that. I'm just mad at myself for putting it off so much. If I would've just got them when I first started I could've saved a lot of money

I saw the price jump the other day as well. $190 for the 17's and they're not even in stock. As much as I want to buy these again, the extremely tight budget might have me looking for super cheap rubber.

I just hope I can find another 'aggressive' all terrain tire like this one that won't break the bank as bad

Finally got mine in some snow. A LOT of snow. I left on Sunday December 27 from Carlsbad NM to come home. Drove thru snow drifts up to the Toyota emblem in the grill. The only problem was snow kept building up between the front bumper and radiator. Pulled out several cars, a 4x4 Excursion, a new 4x4 Chevy, and a New Mexico DOT medium duty Ford plow truck.

I asked the driver if he was ok. He said ya, just stuck. Do you want me to pull you out? I have a tow strap. He had a funny look on his face. Do you think you can? I said sure. It's a Toyota! Hooked him up and told him not to hit his head on the back window of his truck. Because he was a comin' out of the ditch. After I pulled him out and his truck was back on the road. "Standing in 2 feet of snow at this point". He still had a funny look on his face. I broke drifts for him to the next town. I had drifts up to 4 feet to drive thru. Left truck in 4 high and never locked in rear diff. Left traction control on. Drove for 14 hours in 4wd and got 17.5 mpg.

Truck has lots of torque steering in deep snow. Doesn't turn like BFG AT do in deep snow since they are more rounded on corner of tire, but pulls a lot better in deep snow. Corrected this by snapping steering wheel about a 1/4 turn in direction I wanted to go and then back again. Did this until tires caught and truck went where I wanted it to go.

Had to pay $180 each for mine back in Oct. 15. Now they are $160 at local Wally world now.

I bought the lifetime tire rotation for $9 a tire. Have them rotated every 4-5k miles. Now have 13k miles on them. No signs of wear yet. Running 35psi front and 32psi rear. I would suggest running less if not carrying any weight. I have approx. 500 lbs. of gear in back of cab when going to work.

Running all stock suspension. No rubbing except now after driving in deep snow for so long the little plastic tab in front of passenger side front wheel is rubbing tire when turning left while going forward or backwards. Removed both drivers and passenger side today. No more rubbing.

Will I buy again? Most Definitely! Yes on tires and the Tacoma.

Just checked my local Wally world online and the one in Carlsbad NM. They are $176 each for C rated. They were $165 on sale. About every 2-3 months last year they went down to $165.

There currently $176 for my size. Is this a reasonable price? Should I go ahead and bite the bullet before the price jumps anymore?

After accounting for mounting, balancing, disposal fees, taxes, road hazard, lifetime balance, and wherever else they add a $175 tire is easily a $200 tire.
