    Believe me, I'm very happy if I can find the hole and plug it. It beats swapping to the spare tire any day.

    I'll try to acquire one of those tread depth measurement tools. I'm going to the tire shop to see if they will patch the new holes.

    They are load range "C." I may get another 8K out of them.

    The Duratrac for me has great off road traction on dry surfaces. I've driven in the rain a few times, no complaints for wet traction. No snow experience on my part.

    I like the tires but I feel they they wear too fast. They also get a lot louder over time! I've had a few comments from passengers about the road noise. I don't know if that's true of all tires (louder with age).

    I've had four tire punctures in my experience with them. Three of those were off-road. My thoughts on the tread pattern are that having the large aggressive lugs works well for traction, but perhaps the large spacing on the shoulder, it exposes the casing of the tire too much? This is just pure speculation on my part.

    Here is a picture of a fence staple that poked a hole right through the rubber lug @ 32 psi when the tires were brand new.

    No chance, the AT3 is one of the more road based At's. It performs great one the road but so does the Hankook. The Hankook is far superior off road.

    Hankook, but the AT3 would be fine. Any newer AT would be fine. I'm partial to Hankook.

    Guarantee it will out perform those junk Korean tires,... The AT/3 was rated the best AT tire by several big name 4wheel drive mags and other online places, along with consumer reports .... Just do some searching,

    You might want to check out some other magazines such as consumer reports where the hankooks came in first and the at3 came in 8th. The hankooks are a very good tire.

    I've got it, after some research you work for cooper!! No wonder your all up in arms about such a good tire that comes from a Korean manufacturer. Did you know that the truck your driving is owned by a company from Japan?

    I just switched from Hankooks to Cooper AT/3s. Really liked my Hankooks, but the AT/3s are certainly better on the road, and at least equal at everything else.

    We could probably argue at length about the bold part but meh. The AT3 is a good tire, it's my experience and a few other reviewers experience that the Hankook is superior on sand, rocks, gravel and ice at minimum.

    I almost bought a set of Coopers before I found the Hankooks. I called my local Cooper store in town to ask some questions about the ST MAXX and the AT3. I thought the guys on the end of the phone I talked to were clueless assholes. If you can't talk to me about your product without putting down, and lying, about the competition then you're not going to sell me any tires. In fact I walked away thinking... I'll be sure to tell my friends how big the douches are that work at the local Cooper store.

    Shady business dealing w/ Cooper:

This move would have made Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. the only major U.S. tire manufacturer. Cooper is the second largest U.S.-based tire company, after Goodyear.     There's a good chance that your American made Coopers are actually made in China...

    Anyway, this thread is about comparing the Hankook Dynapro to the Goodyear Duratrac. It is comparing the tires against one another but not to try and pick a winner.

    There seems to be a lot of people on TW wanting to swap from a normal AT to a more aggressive AT like the Duratrac. I wanted to write about my experience so others would know what to expect.

    Duratrac. Will buy again. Once my 33" MT MTZ run out (I don't like them), I'm going down to 32x12.5 duratracs. I rode 35psi duratracs over all of NJ and only got stuck from hitting ruts of bigger tires or straight soup mud that'll sink anything.

    I hear if you move to a D or E load range on them, the tread life increases amazingly. I'm sure you sacrifice a lot of on-road ride quality, but they should be a much tougher tire in the higher load ranges.
