When I was looking for tires it was between cooper maxx and dynapro mts, I know a bit different, but went with the mts due to true 33" and I'm in mud country now. I've been really surprised at how quite they are. But if you're looking for a more aggressive at I've heard great things about the copper.

I have Cooper STT MTs right now. A true mud terrain, but as I find my self doing more street driving at the moment and less off road, the noise is getting annoying. Or maybe I'm just getting old. Haha! I've actually been really happy with their performance on and off road. They also do really good in wet conditions but I drive like an old lady in the rain anyway because I have a truck, not a sports car. I've seen too many idiots wipe out because they think they're Ken Block in the rain...

I have the KO2's and I have to say I realy like them I have had Nitto Trails in 285/70/17 and 35/12.5/17 I sold the 285's to a guy on TW who has a new 4 Runner charcoal gray they look realy nice on his truck. But back to the KO2's, I kept the Nitto 35" Trails because I like them alot and will keep them for just what they were meant for (trails) they look kool as hell but they are also very heavy on the other hand, I had not realized how smooth the ride in this truck could be until I put these KO2's on they are 9 pounds lighter and they are 37's. So far so good I don't like the look as much as the Nitto's but for a A/T tire it come very close to the look I want.

Well, today just as my Duratracs were creeping up on 60,000 miles, they gave up. I had a chunk come off the tread and then split down the side. I rubbed a short curb at low speed when this happened. Pretty bummed about it as I have previously been a huge advocate for these tires. I have never had a set of tires fail like this, especially in an urban environment.

They are being replaced tomorrow by a set of KO2's.

Mine looked similar, except it didn't have nearly the amount of miles, maybe 10,000 at most.

That sucks. I'm ready for something else. These duratracs haven't been very impressive.

My god. Glad it didn't happen at interstate speed. Was it a front or rear?

I am also thankful! The tire went flat instantly. It was the drivers side rear. I'm getting all four replaced because I don't trust the other three now. Sooo, three slighltly used tires for sale haha.

    I liked mine until today.

Agreed. I've heard of the complaints of the weak side walls and I always thought, "Nah that's not gonna happen to me." They were at 38 PSI when they popped and are a Load Range D tire.

Most of the reason I got them is that they are they lightest tire (lbs) on the market for a 33x12.5x15 AT/MT (load C) by a pretty big margin; my 2.7L is slow enough rolling on stock tire/wheels and was mainly expecting snow to be their primary off-road use so wasn't that concerned, but maybe I should be.

That low weight has to come from somewhere I guess...

They do pretty well in snow/ice but after blowing a sidewall on a small rock I never trusted them again. I switched dynapro mts, they just as well if not better in all conditions especially wet, though I can't say about ice yet though.

I have these on my state survey rig and my personal truck. I didnt read all 2000 posts but it seems like people either love them or hate them. Some get really good wear out of them some not so much. Seems like the quality of them has went down since they came out or got popular 4-5 years ago. Granted I have not bought either of these sets of tires as the state buys the tires for my survey rig and they were on my Tacoma when I got it. Just seems to me like I'm missing something. I dont know if it is the size of the tire or the air pressure or what but neither set really seems to do "exceptionally" well in any kind of weather other than dry roads. Im glad that I have not had to pay for either set because I would be pretty disappointed with the performance no matter the cost. Just my 2 cents

3rd set! 1st had close to 40,000! Had room to go another 5,000 or so, but winter was approaching! 2nd set are just over 45,000! Lots of room to go, but again, winter is near!

    3rd set I have on 8.5" ProComp 39s instead of 9"!

Love them as a winter snow/ice tire! Will buy them again

I don't know why you would complain about them, you got 60k miles out of them and then had a puncture issue. That's more than they are been rated for. If I get 60k out a tire I'd be ecstatic, although I've never put 60k on a single vehicle.

    Two questions for everyone:

When did you replace your Duratracs and at what point did they become squirrelly on wet pavement?

Never had much of an issue with them in sand, but I tend to air down a bit too so that helps with the traction.
