FWIW Spacers or improper backspacing is killer on the wheel bearings...

one reason i didnt go with 285s

reason two, they are heavy and i see no benefit other than looks

255/85s are a better option to maintain stock backspacing, lighter tires and same contact patch as the 285/75s

Note to goodyear, make duratracs in a 255/85 please...

I love having my 285 duratrac's. They are just alot thicker/heavier than the c load. Yes that means crappier gas mileage, etc. But It also means you couldnt put a nail through the tire unless you pounded it in with a hammer. Not only that but it will withstand chicago winter potholes at full steam without breaking a sweat

Load e is definetely tougher. That's why I got the 265/75s in a load e. They were cheaper than the c load too

Still loving mine. This will be my second MN winter with them and looking forward to it. They look awesome, and are fantastic in the snow. They make the Rugged Trails feel like slicks.

Man I'm still up in arms about which to get Duratracs or Kelly Safari TSRs. I have to decide in the next week thogh so I better figure it out. Any suggestions why to avoid one/go with one over the other?

i was in the same boat, they look very similar

the kelly's don't have severe snow rating like the GY, that was deciding factor for me. GY are slightly more expensive though

Ok so i just ordered a set of 285/75R16 Duratrac's and a set of XD 16X8 Enduro's with 4.5" backspacing, I'm also installing a set of Total Chaos UCA's. I currently have light racing Coil overs up front and am about to install a 3" leaf pack in the back instead of my AAL.

Do you guys think im going to have trouble rubbing my UCA's without spacers? Thanks!

No. The wheels will take care of it. I've got 12.50's on 4.5" BS wheels.

Yeah, it's pushing my decision too as I'll be living in upper NY starting this winter. Just wondering if anybody runs the TSR through deep snow and what their experience has been.

You won't rub the UCAs, but you will slightly rub the inner liner at full lock.

I thought I saw them as available from Tirerack when I got my 265/70/17's. I might be wrong though?

I just looked on tirerack.com and it wasn't listed as a tire when I put my size in.
