X2. I run 40 psi front and 37-38 psi rear. Better gas mileage. It sucks with that pressure going straight into sand, gotta air down. I put more air in the front tires to support the weight of the engine vs. an empty bed.

As far as an "all-terrain" goes, they do all right. The only thing I can think of that does well in that claylike gumbo is a Swamper. I'm happy with them in the mud around here. Again, just not as good as a real "mud" tire.

Hey guys, I drive mostly in town milage, with a good amount of highway miles also. Dont do a huge amount of off roading but go out every now and them. Live in New England so lots of ice and sometimes snow. Id say I put around 3-500 miles a week. The guys at the tire store told me that I would have trouble with the tires wearing poorly because they are ment for a bigger truck. Anyone do a lot of in town driving that could give me their experience??? thanks!

Loved mine until i blew a sidewall from a rock diving 40 on a paved road. Can't really trust them offroading now. Though they work great in the snow.

Can you explain that a bit more? You hit a rock on a paved road at 40 and the sidewall blew?

Was about 5"x1"rock, i saw it and thought i had moved far enough not to hit it but did. After i drive over it i heard a hissing and pulled over. There was a gash in the sidewall and all the air was out in a minute or so. Could just be a fluke but after hearing similar stories I'm gonna keep these as winter tires.

I can post pics if you want.

I think a lot of tires could cut a sidewall when they hit a 5" rock on pavement at 40mph.

Yeah but I've done it many times with other tires and never had anything happen, even with car tires, plus it was a flat rock, not to mention i keep hearing about then having weak sidewalls.

You took that rock and hit it at 40 with a bunch of other tires to test this? And the duratrac was the only one to have any damage? Wow.

SO what do you guys think would be a better tire the Duratracs or the Coopers STT. I have been looking around at tires and i like the coopers but dont know anyone who has them.

Calm down! Just making a funny. Our point is that most tires would puncture under that scenario and it's not that duratracs have bad sidewalls... Go buy another tire and run them!! Honestly, for an AT, what are you going to get that's better? Bfg's? No. They suck at being balanced, and cup/chop easier than any tire I've had. If you're going to go back to a p rated road tire you're missing out. Duratracs also have warranties, did you try to get another one that way?

STT is a mud tire correct? That's comparing apples and bicycles. The ST is an AT like the duratrac. If you want a mud tire get those, if you want an AT get the duratracs. If you drive mostly on the road I would stay away from MT's, as they won't last long if you don't rotate them every 1000 miles.

And as i said my experience has been quite different, it was not a big rock at all. Like i said I've heard way more stories about goodyears having weak sidewalls, then this happens to me. They're fine on road, that's what spares are for. Offroad i don't trust them, simply my opinion, sorry if that upsets you.
