The adjuster that totaled my Taco commented on how clean and rust free the truck was being from Ohio. I burst his bubble and told him it was in Georgia and Colorado 99% of the time.

Damn. Maybe the OP will be first guy with a 2nd gen to get his frame replace by Toyota. That would be some shit.

How long have you owned the vehicle? Are you the original owner? Have you done anything to prevent frame rust? People are always so quick to blame Toyota for everything.

ive had the truck since it was new & i had it undercoated at the dealer before i even picked it up. i spent 800 dollars for it & it didnt do anything for it & the dealler said it only gave me a 5yr warranty on the frame. i wonder how fast it would have rotted if i didnt have it done.

Do you have zoomed-out pictures of neighboring components like rear shocks? Kinda funny how the frame is cracked near the bumpstop strike plate.

So a one and done type deal? I didn't think that undercoating stuff was supposed to last more than a couple of years anyway.

called toyota back & sent pics still saying sorry but cant help you but if we can be of any other service dont hesitate to call. they also said that they will refund me the repair cost if they do come out with a recall so does anyone have a good rear 1/2 of a frame?

Someone needs to start a "my 05+ Tacoma frame is rusted out" thread for all who have issues to sign up on. Then I say we bombard the Toyota Facebook page and any other media with posts.
