    Its a bicycle.
    I got a 115 dollar ticket for 4 over.

he never actually knew what speed I was going...

he lost the truck he was chasing, and just grabbed the first car he saw.

    told me I was doing 74 in a 50

and I said "no I wasnt. I was doing 69, and that was in a 60 transitioning to a 65"

"I always know how fast I'm going"

I also saw him the whole time, he never radar'd me.

but I couldnt fight it, they made it clear the hell they'd put me through if I did...

    once by the cop.

twice by a paper i had to sign stating I knew I was guilty even with a mountain of evidence to prove my innocence.

thirdly by a video that said everything the paper I just signed said.

and lastly by the judge himself.

    god, I hate traffic court

Yeah...The cop obviously lied- cause you are an upstanding law abiding citizen that doesn't do anything illegal on the roads. FWIW- I haven't ever gotten any violations other than one speeding ticket that I earned by not paying attention and being on a sport bike-Totally my fault.

You are paying for being stupid on the road. Don't blame the cops....STOP SPEEDING AND KNOW YOUR LOCAL LAWS. A drivers license isn't a RIGHT...it's a privilege and an agreement to follow the rules. Don't like the rules? Get off the road.

It's been a few years since that serve and protect thing went away- See Castle Rock vs Gonzales for more about that.

PS- Bob...Sorry you got hit up for another one. Best of luck working it out. Traffic school to avoid points maybe?

you are screwed no matter what ticket you get in wv. the majority of the fine is court costs. for example, i got a $165 speeding ticket once for 4 over, i know seriously it was rediculous. but i was going to fight it until i found out the court costs was $160.50 so even if the ticket was dropped id only be paying $4.50 less. its rediculous i tell ya!

I got pulled over coming to Virginia from Texas, the cop told me that I was going 85 in a 70. Then I turned on my GPS which records the top speed attained and showed him that the fastes that I had gone in a last 10 hours was 75. He thanked me for my service and told me to have a good day. God I love my GPS!!

Dec. 31, 07 I got a ticket while I was delivering for the furniture company I work for. 60 in a 45. Just over the GA line, in Copperhill, TN. $130. In a big box truck. I went and paid for it the next week and the lady at the courthouse (It's a VERY small town) said "You have the prettiest eyes. You're so sweet. I'll tell ya what...I'm not even going to turn this in." And she ended up talking to the cop and got it down to $75 instead of $130.

That sucks though, bob. Hope ya at least get it lessened a little.

Yeah...the service thing is still there...but you are on your own for protection. Cops aren't really anything but armed historians who get lucky enuf to catch someone in the act once in a while.

It sucks....but I'd rather rely on me to take care of my own anyways.

    Were you in your truck?
I have a 2009 DC Sport 4x4 and I really have to put the pedal down to reach 88mph! It can definitely handle it but it takes a lot more juice to get up to those speeds. I recently crossed West Virginia and the speed limit is 70mph. Most were going around 85 and it seemed stressful on my truck to stay at that speed for extended periods of time (4+ hours). There are also a lot of mountains and grades we were traveling up.

I averaged 20.55mpg on that trip.

I can't see anyone here being upset about getting a ticket. You know what the posted limit was and violated it, then got caught. Mad or upset at ones self. I know they (the cops) could be out catching real criminals. But hey 55 mph doesn't mean 80 mph. If you don't wanna pay then don't play. Such high fines to help you not speed again, I see many multiple offenders here. Maybe it should cost more?
