We have a company here that recycles old tires and Make a great Mat.

53 for my Tacoma access cab. About an inch thick and has cutouts for teh d rings not just hacked off corners...

They also weight down teh back of the truck a bit...

I can take pics if anyone is interested...

I wanna see that. I'm reminded of my dad's old sandals that have tire tread for the sole. Those are great.

That is nice looking. Is it soft? Can I get a 6" thick one and use it as a mattress?

hey lsocoee.............i think the only way that would be comfortable to lay on is if you were drunk and passed out on it!! good to prevent stuff from sliding......bad for the back:D!!

    I agree!!

but yes it is think and heavy... similar to the spray in liners when it comes to protection but adds about 50-75 lbs or weight in the bed for winter traction.

I did kinda the same thing. I went to our local Agri-Supply and got "horse mat". They use them in horse stalls and horse trailers. They are solid rubber and about 5/8" thick. They come 4'x6', so I had to cut about 3" off each side in the front and 1' off the length with a razor knife. Heavy enough not to blow around and will last forever. Best part...$45. Goes right by the d-rings too.
