That is smaller than stock so your speedo will be even more off. If you went with the 245/75 it is the same diameter as the 265/70. They look like a quiet street tire, should have plenty of get-up-and-go....

I thought you were going to go with BFG Rugged Terrains. (Remember, I was the one that was getting the same set up one day...) Why did you change your mind? Do you have a close up pic?

Was there a pretty good price difference? How's the performance statistic wise?

The guy was telling me that the BFGs got about 50-55k, were really good for mild off roading and excellent in wet weather conditions and did good in snow (not that I need it for snow) and that they were really quiet. Due to not having too much resistance in the tread, they were also decent on mpg.

I was told that they would NOT rub being 265/70R/17 on a 17x9 5.5

Yeah i got these from myers for 100 bucks less with a bigger rebate. And they have a 50,000 mile warrenty just like the bfgs and are good for snow and wet conditions and if you want to go off road then they'll get the job done...my friend off roads in his f150 and this is the only tire he will run on it and it works great for him. and i was told my mpg would stay the same and i havent noticed a difference in mpg and ive driven around 50 miles on them since i got them and have averaged 16-18 mpg.

Looks good but I felt the Tacoma revs too high on the highway with stock size tires. Those smaller tires will be even worse. Looks wise, they look fine, I wouldn't have done it for functionality purposes though.

I like the wheels ,but the tire size looks very grandpa to me. If you like them that all that matters really, just not my kind of setup at all. Good luck with them! JOE>

Thanks! the 265 tires were gonna scrub like hell because of the width of the wheels, and i dont wanna cut my fenders all the hell just to fit them under there. believe me or not but the 245-70 tires scrub when i turn all the way just because of the width of the wheels...surprised me

you shouldn't have any rubbing with a 265/70/16 cause thats a stock size. Also 245 is kinda skinny for a 9" wheel. you must of got a really positive offset wheel or something?

    I was told that I won't rub with a 265/70/17 with a 5.5.
