it was a post on the one of the Tacoma facebook pages, I am subscribed to five and it was this past weekend. I wouldn't know which one it was.

He posted part numbers and everything - He quoted a dealer name that had confirmed it would work with the airbags..

Yep, I like the grab handle. Wish the new ones had it.

FJs had the oshit bars on both drivers and passenger side. I never used mine but trying out the tacoma, I can see it being needed if youre on an incline and dont want to risk moving the steering wheel. The Hilux has them on both sides... wonder if itll work, or if the 4runner will swap?

So, between 2015 and 2016 the actual A-pillar is the same part number (61014-04020). Which tells me that the drivers side grip handle (74640-04010) and a-pillar (62212-04100) will fit from a 2015 on the 3rd gen trucks.

That just leaves the issue that 2016 trucks have black interior and these trim parts are only offered in sand beige and grey. But there are interior trim paints that look like they would fit the bill decently well such as http://www.colorbondpaint.com/

Does the Forerunner have black interior available? Either way... A trip to the junkyard to scavenge up a A pillar trim and handle is on the to-do list. I can paint plastic.

ehhh looking thru pics the handles look nothing alike between 2015 and the 3rd gen passenger side. It may fit but it will look weird.

I have one in my 1st gen and I can never remember using it in the 12 years I've owned the truck. Can't say I miss it in my 3rd gen.

If the look is different between the 15 and 16 A pillar and grab handles, you can change both the driver and passenger side to make sure they are a matching pair. Need to find matching paint for the interior color though.

I was actually watching a YouTube Video of Tweeter Install and when he pulled off the A Pillar Panel it looks like the screw holes are still there like in my 2015.

there's a hole but it's not threaded. if you can find a way to get a nut to stay there you're probably more than half way there for installing a handle.
