Hopefully the 18s will have 1, otherwise we will be waiting awhile longer

The newer Tundra has an after market handle that perfectly matches passenger side handle.

Wtf do you need a driver oh shit handle for? You're doing something wrong if you're using it while driving.

I have had back surgery and it made the truck easier to get in and out of.

Yes, ever since 2014 when Toyota deleted it from the Tundra, the faithful of Tundra Talk figured out a way to install it with current OEM parts. So basically it was a cost cutting move by Toyota, but you can still PAY for it and install yourself.

That is a pre-production model though but the 18s probably do not have it.

I liked the driver side holy shit handle for the reason that if someone was behind me in the nighttime I could hold onto it. My arm would then be covering the driver side mirror and shielding my eyes from their light. Glad the rear view mirror auto dims at least lol. My 15 never had that feature!

Anyone tried putting a 2nd gen driver side a-pillar handle into a 3rd gen with modifications?

I for one used the hell out my handle on my gen 1, gen 2, but now my 2017 doesn't have one :( I really didn't think it would be a big deal but after having this truck for awhile it is really starting to get to me. I have hip and low back injuries from my service time and I would love to come up with a solution for a solid handle that does NOT interfere with the airbag system. If anyone has suggestions please I am all ears I plan on having this truck for the next 10+ years and it would be great to find a affordable solution to this.

Pics are attached to show the lack of handle :(

I looked in to this a while ago - the metal of the A-pillar is the same between the 2nd gen and 3rd gen models. So the plastic A-pillar and handle will fit to the metal - but I don't know if they'll mate up with the new dash.

Also there's the matter that the new interiors are black while the 2nd gen was grey

A little late to this thread, but for the driver, their hands should be on the steering wheel anyway. And if you need assistance getting into the truck, just grab the steering wheel, it locks when the car is off and is tugged.
