I was on the verge of dishing out $550 for a TRD exhaust when I found this for only $236 on autoanything with a 25% off sale. Knew several people that had Gibson on V8 trucks and they were all very satisfied. I love the Gibson. Same sound as the TRD at half the price and installation was only 30-45 minutes. Most of that time was squeezing all the hangers into the rubber isolators on the truck. After 7 months I have zero complaints and the sound is just right for me.

Thanks for the info! I was trying to find sound clips on the 3rd gen but haven't found any yet. But if you say it sounds like the TRD I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the Gibson too. Btw how is the interior drone?

265/70/17 load C rated. Really wanted 275/65/17 but much more expensive and only come in E rated and are much heavier.

Beautiful truck... those rims look great with the ko2. I am in search for that exact setup. Here in Hawaii the prices for those rims are outrageous. Im hoping to find a deal on Craigslist or something. Anyway you have a good looking truck.:thumbsup:

It comes from having too much extra cash. Gotta spend it somewhere. As far as useless most of mine are useful. Bilstein shocks-rides much better. Toolbox-it gets used because of access cab limitations. Leather seat covers-for $275-BEST MONEY SPENT-better than paying the extra $10k in 2016 for a Limited just to get leather seats. Pro grill and tail lights-looks so much better. Floor liners-because only dummies use carpet mats. Baja Designs fogs-because stock fogs are junk and they are sooo much better than Pro fogs. LED headlights-cleaner and better night vision. NERF bars-because I am handicapped. Bed mat-so crap don't roll around in my bed. Custom interior lights-so I can find a needle at midnight. BFG tires on 4runner wheels-because stock Sport wheels and tires are not attractive. CAI and Exhaust-because it runs awesome-a ton better than it did stock-2ND BEST MONEY SPENT. Kicker speakers-because I like to crank it up and hear quality sound. Hood lift struts-because it makes sense. Under hood and tool box lights-again it makes sense. Decals and debadging-personal preference. And I still have under $34.5k total in my truck and love it. And did I mention I can afford to do whatever the eff I want to my truck. Only remaining expected mod is an OVTune.

It's all good. I guess your "useless" statement hit a nerve. I read your reply and just let it go. After thinking about it all day I just felt like I had to respond. Sorry for the defensive beatdown. Not my style. I am not judgemental about what others do to their trucks. If you like your mods then that's all that matters. I haven't spent one dollar to impress you or anyone else. It's all for me and what I like. For the first year I was determined to stick with a handful of needed and useful mods. Never liked the stock wheels so they just had to go. Restricting mods initially was driven by being uncertain if I was going to keep it or trade it for a Pro 4runner. I had quite a few problems with it for a few months. First model year issues. Once I got the bugs worked out the flood gates opened and, after realizing I will keep it for many years, I decided to go all out and make it my own. I admit there are some mods that are strictly cosmetic and really are useless. That's ok. I have zero regrets. Truth is that I came very close to buying a silver double cab Sport because I was frustrated trying to find a blue or inferno access Sport in 2wd. I was driving a red double cab Prerunner and just needed bed length instead of a full rear seat which, for me, is useless. All my kids are in their 20's and 30's so I only carry a grandkid on rare occasions. Sorry for the harsh reaction.

I’m a lighthearted joking kinda guy. I’m here on TW mostly for the funny gifs and unfunny/repost/nonpolitical pics thread more than anything else so I’m occupy that weird band of assuming people gets the humor side of things. I assumed you”re here on the board often enough to read thru the useless mods thread and get a kick out of the self deprecating jokes including mesojdm. Didn’t forsee the responses but then again I would do the same thing coming out of left field. No hard feelings.

I make comments sometimes that offend people when taken out of context too. I usually take it well because I also dish it out. I am an NBS* and, no matter how hard I try, I can easily rub someone the wrong way. I am embarrassed at how rudely I reacted. What is done is done. I am going to rewrite that post for peace of mind. For the record now I am wondering how those eyelashes will look on my truck
