Thanks guys. I'm really happy with it. I really like the stock wheels with a twist of different color. It's funny how the color looks better in person and tires look more aggressive in person too. No regrets on painting the wheels myself, color choice or tire choice.

Did you use a clear coat? I just finished doing one of mine and it looks flatt compared to yours.

I sprayed 3 coats of Wheel matte Duplicolor clear. I would have prefered a satin but I thought gloss would have been too much. As it turns out, the matte is just about right for me.

Your wheels came out great. Is that wheel sliver? I sprayed the clear on 30-60 min(whatever the can says) after the graphite.

I will have to order me some matte clear coat then. Yeah the wheels were silver I'll attach a side by side of before and after. By the way OP, sorry to hijack your thread. Your wheels came out great! IMG_6482.jpg

I used their clearcoat, yes. about 2 coats each wheel. again I used the "CustomWrap" and not actual paint so results will vary.

No problem. Are you going from graphite to silver or silver to graphite? One can of clear was enough for me, but I only painted and cleared the front sides of the wheels.

I'm going from silver to graphite. I went with the custom wrap like frizzman because I have the option of peeling it off if I don't like it, I just wish it was a little darker like the color you had went with.

Over two years and 33k miles and the wheels still look great. I rotate them myself and am careful with the impact driver. I haven't even had to touch up anything.

lookin' good. I have, as of two weeks ago, started peeling my coat off. I want to go the route of painting now to make it look good and more permanent.

I painted and installed these wheels in Jun of 2017 at 291k miles. 4 years and 44k miles later with no touching up and on another set of tires, the paint is showing only mild signs of wear. I'm pretty impressed with this paint.

Just had these done In Prismatic Powders Graphite Charcoal. Intended to go bronze, but got frustrated when I couldn’t find a bronze I liked that didn’t require 2-3 different coats. Said ef it and went graphite. Little more silver than the examples I looked at but no biggie.

My guess is that because it looks so good. After having painted wheels I took a ton of time to paint and prep correctly I'll never go over the factory finish again - just doesn't hold up and ends up looking dull. PC or just find wheels the color I like - that said I rattle canned plenty of things and they never hold up at least in the SoCal sun - much rather use 2k / automotive grade.

I agree. Powder is far superior in the long run
