When leaving work yesterday it felt like my truck was in 4WD (binding/noise). I confirmed it was in 2WD and none of the wheel nuts were tampered with. I drove slowly to make sure everything was good, the ride home was uneventful.

This got me thinking. What does everyone use to lube the steering stops? I know those could produce the noise I heard but I didn't think I had the wheel fully turned.

I dab a thin layer of grease on mine from time to time --- but that would only be at full lock so I'd try to confirm that is when you get the binding/noise.

Pretty much anything will work and everything will wear/degrade. I have been using green HD Lucas but Id imagine red and tacky would probably work as well.
