Bummer. I always enjoy listening to his music.

 

One of my 1st concert experiences was the Allman brothers. Got arrested for minor in possesion of alcohol, got cuffed but jumped out the window of the police van while midnight rider was playing. Climbed a chain link fence with my hands behind my back. My buddy's dad was a sherriffs deputy and he helped me cut the cuffs off in his barn later that night. They are still hanging on the wall there, 20 years later. Good times!!

 

Bought their first album in '70 and remember how different it sounded from lots of the other stuff.
RIP Gregg.

 

Unbelievable...he had a full life for sure.

Nice notice Bill.
I was just listening to "sweet melissa" the other day, and thought of what an icon Greg Allman was.
Songwriting, singing, playing, even acting ("Rush"), he possessed talents, and lived a life, full.

Sure he had his trials, and tribulations, as do we all, but he left a legacy with the Allman brothers, and independently, that most of this younger generation may have never heard of, but those of us older, and wiser, respect.
