IMG_4977.jpg So do to a lack of brain cells I've managed to dwindle the grey wire from the grey wire mod down to nothing. I did the mod probably 2 years ago and it had worked fine. At first I did the easy wrap it is electrical tape which never lasted. So after using the incorrect size wire to match the grey wire and also cutting it to short in the first place, my grey wire is nearly gone. Is there any way to fix this or am I out of luck at this point?

You should be able to remove the pin from the connector and either replace with another, or with a bit of luck, get the old wire out and reuse it on new wire. The trick is to get the proper tool to move the spring catch to release it. I ordered these when rewiring connectors on my BMW power seats. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0752VQR9Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Sorry, I don't have any experience with this particular connector, but most have a single tang that you push back down toward the wire from the front side (opposite where the wires go in) and then hold it there while simultaneously pulling the pin out the back of the connector. Sometimes it helps to first push the pin in, so that the tang is free to move. Good luck!

Thanks for you help I'll order that tool and see if I can get the old connector out and put another one in. I really appreciate it I was feeling like I had no hope to fix this screw up.

Is it just me, or have you had some shorting problems?

like shorts in the wiring with things not working? Nothing so far. If your looking at the burnt wires it was from a heat shrink wrap and the flame got to close.
