I liked the idea another Tacomaworld member had of adding a Grid-it organizer to the inside lid of the center console. His Grid-it organizer mod was to he second generation Tacoma. It took a little more modification, but I was determined to get it done on my 2016.

I did this and wrote a write up a couple weeks ago. Uses a metal frame from springtail solutions so I can change out the bag get up anytime. Also should last a lifetime/

Awesome! I saw the one for the 2nd gen and loved it but never pulled the trigger since it was 2nd gen. What size Grid-It did you use? And would you be able to post some instructions?

It looks like the packaging says extra small, but doesn't give the dimensions. OP, can you confirm the HT/W size? I'm about to Amazon this bitch....

I thought this mod was a really great idea - but I didn't want to mod my console top. The Grid It (CPG4BK) fits pretty well in a horizontal orientation on the smaller side of the inside of the console (See pics). I used the heavy grip double sided tape and it's been working really well! I'm actually thinking about putting another one on the opposite side.

Exactly what I was gonna do after reading that 2nd Gen thread. I ordered mine yesterday and it should arrive tonight! The ~5" x 7" one should work perfectly.

Got mine in today. I stuck it to the back with some 3M velcro. IMG_20161018_165514838_zpsevcvpb4w_3519d42f7fa9f66e4ab67973f6a3839165f27a45.jpg

I have one too and it's just in there loose right now. I am going to attach it using 3M Velcro as well!

Just an FYI for anyone curious, the Vehicle OCD Tray Organizer thing (think it's made by Salex?) does work with that small grid-it organizer in that position. I would imagine that anything bulky in the grid-it would conflict, but for small items like chapstick, pens, etc. there should be no issue.
