I was looking at one of the satoshi posts and i saw a pic of a grill surround, but it was just the inner piece, like under the chrome or color matched cover. Is that cover easily removable? cuz i wanna trade out my chrome grille surround for a white one, but i wanna keep the grill cuz its a 2011 and i think it looks pretty sick. Anyone with experience with removing the outer piece of the grill surround?

I am curious about this also? Any places online to buy just the inner piece?

The center section has tabs that attach to the surround. I heated up the tabs with a heat gun and carefully bent them up straight to remove the center section from the surround. The only problem is it makes the tabs pretty brittle and they tend to break off easily. I ended up plastic welding the spots that broke.

Nice, I want to keep the color matched surround from my 2011 sport but I want a satoshi grill and dont want to chop up the center of the 2011.

It would be nice to buy the inner grille or a unfinished grille and remove the center, this way I can keep the original color matched surround.

So when you plastic welded the spots, did you plastic weld the tabs back on? or just the inner and outer parts together? Oh, and i don't have a heat gun, do you think a soldering tool would work?

Oh, and does anyone know where i can buy just the outer piece for pretty cheap?

Anybody know if I can buy just the inner grill without buying the entire grill?

OEM? Not that I have seen. Plus, going through the hassle of changing out the center section wouldn't be worth it.
