I don't, it doesn't get that hot...certainly not hot enough to where it should be a problem for any vehicle.

Could be worse, every 3rd gen explorer had a cracked rear panel below the liftgate because of heat.

I'm having the same issue with my 2016 (9000 miles). Dealer wants to set an appointment to look at it and if its an issue order the parts. Toyota knows this is an issue and the dealer here is lame (Toyota of Vancouver, WA). The service guy wouldn’t leave his desk to take a look at my truck. He wanted me to set an appointment to have someone look at the grill. Going to a different dealer - where I'm not just a number.

Mine sits out in full sun facing west. If I notice that on my black Tacoma it will be in someone else driveway.

I have a MGM and just checked mine. I have a very subtle warp in the middle near the hood seal. It might just be an imperfection and I wouldn't have noticed it until I saw this thread. Hopefully it doesn't get anywhere near as bad as some of the pics in this thread.

Transmission Service Bulletin Done, Rear differential recall done. Down Shift vibration service bulletin needs to be done. Grill warping = the new TACOMA is a POS compared to my 1989 v6 (PITA 3.0) extra cab deluxe = no recall problems and no major issues since I bought it new in 1989!

Time for Toyota to replace the plastic grill frame with steel. I will have the warping plastic replaced every 10,000 miles (or less) - even after the 36,000 mile warranty expires - as Toyota knows this is a defect/issue. I live in Vancouver, Washington - it does not get that hot here. Piss poor design. I walked around the service department and look at several 2016 and 2017 Tacoma's that were awaiting service or had been serviced and there were several already showing signs of warping. Toyota needs to make another recall and fix the warping issue.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
Looks like their vendor/ mfr. who makes these plastic grill surrounds must have made a bad batch!? From how old this thread is --I am guessing they made this mistake more than once -- either that or Toyota has a large stockpile of this part?

I'm experiencing the same warping, along the top of the piece that borders the grill, on my 2017 Tacoma TRD. It's getting progressively worse. I live in Texas and it gets hot, to be certain, but the truck is not parked in a garage. Dealer has a new grill assembly on order, but they say it's back-ordered and will take a while.

So is this being covered under warranty I take it? Just saw it in my 2018 after waxing it. Def wasn’t there when I bought it 6 months ago.

When I take my misaligned bumper in under warranty I’ll point this out. Don’t see how they could say I was hit as there are no impact points nor scratches/nicks. Plus, doesn’t plastic crack?

My 2017 has very slight warpage on the left side. Only noticeable when looking at reflections

The truck sees alot of sun here in south FL.

2010 Dodge challengers had something similar to this with the plastic on the rear bumper. Chrysler replaced a bunch of them.
