I seen on the Grillcraft upper grill install from the website that its optional to cut the original cross bars out....how many cut em and how many leave em? Anyone got pics of the two?

Cut. It will look cheap and lazy if you leave the bars. Like a soccer mom who had her not so handy husband put a chrome mesh grill over the factory "GMC" emblem...

If you don't cut them off you'd be able to see them through the grillcraft mesh at certain angles. I'm guessing you're not recessing the grill so you don't even really need to do a super clean cut...

cut them out. i've seen some with it still on and it doesn't look that great, like you were too lazy to cut out stock and just bolted something on top.

Sawzall is a brand name....I believe the correct category name is 'reciprocating saw'.

I cut mine out, but didn't initially paint the "back" parts black. Went back in and painted them, looks much better. Note that I did not cut the botton grill part out, just top.

Also, you can cut the grill parts out on the cheap with a small hacksaw handle and blade. The one that does not have the frame around the blade, but rather the blade fits in just the handle. I think I saw it called a close-quarter hacksaw, it was about $6. You can trim the cuts if required with a set of tin snips. I found this method easier to control then with a dremel.

yup...I got one of those hacksaws. Saved my butt this weekend when I had to cut the centering pin on my rear springs which got bent (long story), but the blade fit between two of the springs just perfect.

what do you use to paint the radiator with?
