~ *This is a work is progress awaiting TRD Pro grille in mail* will update
BLUF: Reduce / Remove glare from OEM grille garnish.
~ Thought about DIY license plate cut out method but didn’t want to deal with higher possiblity of error codes & radar issues with material density, angles etc. This may be a happy medium for aesthetic anti-glare ocd people like me, we shall see...
~ Xpel stealth, high quality matte wrap. Got 1’ x 24” (came in at 24” by 23” ish even better) for $24.
~ Cut rectangle of Xpel stealth, peeled, put on with light soap and water mix on surface, used wrapped credit card / business card to flush out air bubbles, then (likely not preferred technique looking back) flipped over and cut out edges with #10 scalpel. Will probably pre-trace and cut absolute zero overhang or leave more overhang to pull down and tight w no lines on sides of garnish. Granted not wrapping a Porsche, not going to sweat it if it passes the eye bang test from 2-3 ft
~ Inside before and after imbedded below, others attached, tried to capture the impact of the Xpel stealth, took a pic with flash on hood, need to take a pic in sunny daylight. All things considered, looking like a severely low glare game changer. Can’t wait for full install, will update once grille arrives this week. Cheers.

Install complete. No issues so far. Lane departure worked fine, will update over time on adaptive cruise control / if any error issues pop up.
All in, $99.88 Chinese knock off TRD Pro Grille, $51.37 Grille Garnish, $24 Xpel Stealth: $175.25
Some pics below, when I catch the sun angle directly on the grille garnish I’ll post it. Stoked as so far it really cuts down on the tacky glare. The wrap looks great from a mile and only a mile from good at about 2ft and closer on the edges due to my not perfectly flush no pre-trace cutting of the Xpel.
If anyone is interested in putting some matte Xpel stealth wrap on their grille garnish let me know as I’ve got 24” by 24” minus one garnish cut

I was wondering if there were other products/applications that you looked at before going with the wrap? I like the idea of taking the shine off of the garnish.

How it’s holding up so far, dirty and unwashed. No glare and imperfect edges only really visible between the notches up close. No abnormal radar issues whatsoever.

Nice! Should be thin enough to not disrupt the radar

I have had the xpel matte finish on my OEM Pro grill for a few months also. No problems with the tss at all. Other grill in photo was a non-OEM grill I had on the truck before the factory one.32F489A0-0281-44F2-A3C3-82395E7C8BA9.jpg
