Okay So I am ordering a Pelfreybilt battery cage to hold a Group 31 Battery , but now I have to decide what battery to run. I ran a dual battery system with a red top optima and a blue top optima in my last rig, but this time I am trying to simplify to just one big battery. I found a good price on a Optima Blue top 31m battery but when compared to other similar batteries it seems low on Ah and reserve times. Anyone have experience with this battery or have any suggestions?

I should go take a pic of my Deka 900 cca one I bought but its parked like 400 feet away so will have to wait an hour for lunch time.

it is an inch wider and 1/4 in shorter than the stock tow package one, so jut had to add a 1/4 in shim to hold it in place

I will let you know in about 20 min, it does have the double handles on it and I think reserve was 50% more than original.

I have played my radio loud when camping for 12 hours with out issue on the OEM one

Okay cool I appreciate it. I have a fridge that will be set up in the bed so that is my biggest concern. I just want to make sure there is enough power to keep that running for a while without starting the truck.

its like having 1.5 of stock batteries in one based on the reserve capacity

That's why I bought it so I can play the radio at the beach all day and still start it up later on

ill be running a test this weekend in my back yard for my house warming party, my truck sounds better than my old Panasonic unit and I have a BlackBerry Z30 loaded with 64 gig of music to stream over Bluetooth to my Stereo Gateway so I can skip songs 30 feet away in my chair next to fire pit.

Interesting. Let us know how long you run it without starting the truck. Im on the beach often and would be cool to play the radio for a few hours without having to worry about running it dead.

Not a bad upgrade especially if your battery is on its way out.

I have a 31M northstar battery, that is a standalone, that i run my fridge off of. I have a 100w solar panel and if i keep the fridge around 35-45 degrees, i cant leave it running indefinitely.
