It looks like for the middle switch area there is only an option to daisy it off of the ECT button? Or am I missing something? Unfortunately I think a large part of the people doing the 2LM are manual owners and don't have that button. So close, yet so far!

If you have one yes. Otherwise the option is the 4x4 selector. Not all trucks have ECT.

Do you have a PnP harness that works with HVAC then, like the others in your thread? Or does it use the same plug as one of them that you make there?

Finally did the install today, thanks to all who did great write ups and photos on this! Everything went smoothly, except on my part....doh! I ordered the wrong switch size! Oh well, guess I'll order a new switch!

were you able to fish the wire to the switch without taking the center dash apart?

edit: anyone have pics of center lower switch installs?

The only way to install the 2LM is to pull the glove box and center vents. Some folks can reach behind the HVAC to pop out a switch, but most have to remove the HVAC also. Not hard at all. No fasteners, just clips.

    Here you go:

    Edit.... That /\

I don't think anyone did get pictures of that part. Once you have the rest of the dash apart it's pretty straight forward. You can either struggle and use a coat hanger to get the wire over to the switch blank, remove the radio bezel and radio, or remove radio bezel and pop out the HVAC controls.

The HVAC method is probably the easiest. You just need to pop loose the drivers side kick panel just below the ignition.

My switch is to the left of steering wheel, I just had two magnetic flashlights to see from both sides and ran some tie wire from the left
taped connector to it and fished it over.

For anyone that has ordered since 4/4/2021 and is following here, you may or may not have received a shipping notification from Square or Shippo. For some reason the cross platform integration is not working correctly and Square is not getting shipping info from Shippo. Rest assured all pending orders (with the exception of the one that came in late this afternoon) have been sent out either yesterday or today.

I love that Meso switch panel, but I can't bring myself to hack up my dash, lol.

    Thanks!

It is a piece of cake and only took me about 1.5hrs going slow. Cut small and shave it wider.

I do think that it was stupid that the switch panel is integral to the trim piece. Does Toyota even know Tacos? :D

Oh I have no doubt the install is easy, and the end product is definitely awesome. It's the fact that, like you said, that stupid trim piece is part of the whole dash and I'm not that committed. I also don't have nearly enough switches to need it, lol.

I would sooner make a touchy/swipey screen to mount somewhere to control a bunch of stuff. Come to think of it, that's a good idea. Make it wireless so you don't need to pass a bunch of wires through the firewall.

It was a difficult first slash of the knife. I was out of room with just one spare slot on mine.

Switchpros is similar, but with a shitton of wiring. A wireless solution would be killer. Friggin' LEDs everywhere. Hahaha!

I put mine in the center lower dash. I'm a pretty normal size guy and could snake my hand through from the passenger footwell to pop out the switch blank without any difficulty. Feeding the wire through to it was simple as well.
