Long title, but its a bit of an "out of the ordinary" part. This group buy is for a shock bucket top component of an engine cross over strut system. @dirt designs has been cool enough to offer us a group buy on this part.

    1. What is this part?
    - It mounts to the top of your coil bucket and provides a mounting point for a 1.75" OD tube (.120 wall for moderate beating and thicker if you like) to act as a coil bucket brace. It will help prevent the coil buckets/frame from bending under heavy use/FUN!
    - Also, this part allows you to bend up your own secondary shock mount tube and sleeve it into the provision built into the bucket top.

    2. What is involved in installing this part?
    - You will have to source your own tubing and bender to get the cross over bent for your truck. There is NOT a crossover tube included in this because every truck is different.

    3. What are the order options?
-Parts delivered as Weld It Yourself ($100) ($80 if we get 5+ in the GB)
-Parts delivered as welded component ready for install. ($160) ($128 if we get 5+ in GB)

    4. Shipping?
-Prices don't include shipping. Invoice from Dirt Designs will include shipping costs. For me, WY from CA it's roughly $20.

    5. Will these fit 1st Gens??
    - See page three for pictures and if you want version one or two.

    Pictures:

    IMAG0399.jpg IMAG0400.jpg

These are installed photos from @jjhitchen truck. Bypass provision is not installed in these. As you can see you will have to cut a bit of your fender out

What kind of hardware is used to mount this? It looks like it has a small nut and washer, do I just find a bolt that will thread through my Icons and attach a lock nut to the other side?

Good question. I planned on making a hardware run to get a longer bolt to bolt the bracket to the coil bucket top. I'm guessing the washers you can see on joels rig are there to fit the top of the coil bucket which has a small part formed up in the middle.

Sweet! Thanks for getting this together Marc! So does GB pricing apply for 5 total kits, either welded or not, or do we need 5 welded, 5 WIY for the discount?

As you know, I am interested in the WIY.

I assume it's for 5+ either way @Wishbone Runner . Steve (aka dirt designs) said he hardly gets on here (TW) so any direct questions that I cannot answer just email him at socalmoto@gmail.com

They should bolt through the new piece and then thread into the coilover top hat. In the pic you are referencing, I think it is on an LT kit with a different top hat that uses nuts and bolts.

Ok, the little bolts that came with my Icons don't look like it has enough thread the add the new mount. I'd be kid of hesitant to run them with out a longer bolt. I'll post a picture in a few of how mine look now.

    Thanks Mark!

On the kits I build for tacomas they use through bolts on the shock adapter plate. To use these mounts you will need bolts that are about 1/4" longer. Standard bolts I run through are 3/8" gr8

This does not fit the 1st gens, but it just so happens I also have mounts for those. 5+ orders on those and I can also do 20% off, same pricing. Instead of a tube end with single 1/2" bolt, the 1st gen use a plate flange that you weld the engine crossover tube to.

Discount on wiy or welded. As long as were on a run of the same parts its quicker setup time and building so you guys save money.

This looks interesting. Not sure if I need it tho.

It'd be cool to see more pics of the 1st gen setup. Particularly, where the cross brace goes thru the fenders. Both sides are already pretty crowded in those spots.

On the 2nd gens is there a reason for not cutting hole large enough to fit the top hat mount to weld the tube end to the tube in the mount and weld that to the mount (elminating the need for the 1/2" bolt)?

From my undestanding was that shock tower crossover tube should be solid therefore they dont pivot. Maybe its a dumb question, i just know back in my car days you wanted something like this with no pivot bolts in the crossover mounting:
