This is a concern of mine as well. I have an archive garage shock relocation kit that runs a 12" shock. The relocation raise the top shock mount right at the top of the wheel well but does not cut through the bed/wheel well. Would the bottom of the bed ride at that height?

My bed is lifted 1” on the mounts which gives me about 6 1/2” between the top of the frame and the underside of the bed.

Update: Ute Ltd just did a production run and I will have my bed coming in ca 4-5 weeks. My name will still be on the group buy count, so don’t worry for lack of interested buyers.

I’ll provide all the details on installation, photos, and a video review. Folks interested in the beds can add their names or get in touch with me after they’ve seen some more details.

Mine would be roughly 4 inches taller. how do you feel this would work ergonomically?

The first round of beds arrive on Monday. I am organizing shipping now for mine. This Group buy is still OPEN

They usually ship with truck with some non-OE tail lights. I am sourcing some 70 Series Land Cruiser tail lights and a license plate lamp assembly. Should look great.

Four inches doesn’t seem that much, but I presume the truck is also higher off the ground with the long travel suspension. So it is getting pretty high for sure. The other thing would be that the head board is already five inches above the cab. I’ve looked into lowering mine and it would be fairly easy before the install. You would need some thread inserts, but they can be found at a good hardware store.

The top surface of my bed is approximately 41” with a 2” lift and 265/70 17R tires. Hope that’s helpful.

Got any photos of your rear mud flaps? Are they the UTEBED ones or something else? Also, what tail light assembly are you running?

The mud flaps are Ute Ltd. and came bright white. I sprayed them with plasti-dip and that has actually held up really well. Two years on they are just starting to show the white on the inside edges.

The lights are Optronics STL211X brake / reverse lights. The issue with these are they are a four wire light as opposed to the Toyota five wire. I think this can be addressed by adding another brake light. As is, it was problematic to wire, and has left me with a hyper blink when I depress the brake pedal.

So the Ute Beds finally arrived in the USA last Friday. I believe the first run is getting palletized right now, and should be shipped today or tomorrow. I will have to collect my bed in Boston to save a few hundred on shipping. I'll be sure to post a video and some photos of all of the details.
