    Here is the crate opening.

I only grabbed a couple of boxes out of the top so I don’t have any more pics. But there was a stack of beds flat packed.

If I could figure out how to mount a Vagabond to this thing, I would be into it.

@Stopmithering that crate looks huge! Do you think I can transport it on top of my 6ft bed about a 2 hr drive safely?

I am still not sure how I am going to handle the rear bumper. The stock bumper looks funny back there, but I realize that they are required at the state and federal level to be DOT compliant and safe.

There’s a whole bunch of beds in that crate. I’m sure Randy will have a smaller pallet for one bed. You’ll be fine.

The stock bumper does look a little goofy, but until I can figure a way to build a bumper with all the sensors in it, it’ll have to do.

Wow.. this is cool. So the price looks like base. What would it be for the full setup with the rear bar, side steps water tub, toolbox, underside drawer in two tone? Also curious if there is installation instructions or if this is something recommended for a shop? (if someone had it installed, what was the cost).. I think with this I'd have to go pickup a long range tank. :) I am on the fence for jumping in, but wanted to think on it a few days. PM me with info if that is easier.

Please see post 1 for vendor contact info. Randy knows these details, whereas I do not.

After two years the plastic hinges on the bed do not worry me. They are well designed and I think will hold up well over time.

The plastic hinges on the storage boxes on the other hand, I’m not so sure about. They seem like a weak point and an easy access option to bypass the locks. We will see, they are new to me.

They're actually designed to be significantly stronger than your standard steel hinge. Here is a test video they did comparing the two. Basically the "plastic" is a composite that can flex back to the original shape, steel obviously won't do that.

Makes you wonder why a Triple M tray for less than few grand has this superior hinge type but a Norweld that costs twice as much still uses the older tech hinges.

I personally think the Norweld tray also just looks ostentatious and is completely overbuilt for a normal Tacoma user. That’s why I am so psyched to get my bed this Tuesday!

The plastic hinges compliment the aesthetics of the Tacoma, don’t you think?

After five hours driving down to Boston to pick up the bed, I have it at home, nearly ready to install.
