delivery post covid is a crap shoot on some item that could delay shipments

model year changes + scrutiny on inventory will get some execs buched up boxers

the usual draw down sept to end of year prompts inventory reductions

no marque is eager to ship new models when they have 1 years sitting around

they attempt to move them regardless if thats what U want

from dec to march they ramp up momentum in sales goin into summer

somewheres between tom turkey & the easter bunny the market.................. MIGHT correct

    thats a maybe fellas

its a cycle thats gone on for decades....................1 Iv used to keep thousands in my pockets

no less covid could throw another hissy fit this winter

The shortage isn't slowing down Toyota from advertising on Television. Kind of dissapointing to see a tacoma ad, then go to the dealership to find they have 4 trucks. lol

Found 3 so far. Will see how it goes. Hate getting gouged though.
Am sick of the covid excuse for everything. From crap customer service to higher prices.
Guess it was just part of the master plan.

I bought my 2020 mid September of last year. You've still got time. Don't cave and get "close enough," get what you want. Just gotta be persistent.

U wont have to wait 26 more

not likely 26 more weeks or months

    the market will correct

    if U have Cash ( Smart money !! )

U will be in the best way rather than upside down owning MORE for a truck

    than its worth............

    thats the real Trap !!!

You've been told wrong about the emissions part. Access cabs, especially TRD sports, are hard to come by because they are only built at the Mexico plant along with dealerships ordering more double cabs because that's what Tacoma buyers want.

Right now good luck with getting a discount anywhere, MSRP is a currently a "deal".

The best advice I can give you is don't waste a minute of your time with the sales lot people, you want to go directly to the fleet manager who has the ability to find an allotment that can be modified to suit your desires.

Technically that is illegal to do if the OP lives in California. There are "loopholes" but that's for another day.

Is Toyota getting rid of the Cement color all together for every trim package? Seems rather foolish of them if thats the case.

It’s not illegal if the OP pays any taxes which are due, gets a Smog check and jumps through any other hoops the DMV has. Many members on this site have done it legally, some have even had their trucks shipped directly to them. The Date Farmer in 29 Palms who’s Screen Name escapes me at the moment did that. my DD was originally sold in Kentucky and driven to me here in CA.

I dont know where you got those numbers from. But I can assure you they are not real. I work at a dealer and can see the MSRP and Invoice Prices from Toyota. They are Way higher than these you have here. Also as other stated MSRP is a deal now a days. 4 months ago almost every car we sold was at invoice, I live in Indiana where Toyota demand is not as hi as say the west coast. However with all this inventory shortages every new car we sell is MSRP plus dealer add ons, company wont go down from that. Straight orders from the top, if customers dont want to pay that we let them walk. Sucks as a salesman since I have lost a few deals due to it. There is no way around it for the time been.

Not sure on how any of that would be illegal. It’s legal in every state. I’m pretty sure the California DMV also gives a list of what paperwork you will need just like every state requires to register a vehicle. The only thing is the “50 state” for emissions that would be a concern but most Toyota’s are built that way.

From what I’ve heard they are going to replace it with Lunar Rock. Cement will be discontinued as Quicksand was for 21

Weird. Cement and Quicksand seem to be two of the most popular colors. I guess Im glad I got mine while I could.

Those were my favorites as well but couldn’t find one. That’s why I ended up buying my truck because every place I went too last April-June had any new or pre owned marked up for the color. Sad that I was able to buy a pre owned Pro for cheaper than I could get an Off Road in those colors.

@MCM what area of CA are y
I second this best advice. Get what you want. Harder part is finding a dealer that will place an allocation order for you. There are only 2 dealers in my general area (North County San Diego) that were willing to do this. Every other dealer - come see what we have on the lot or what is coming in! Uh, no thanks. 2 weeks later, more emails - "Are you interested in this one?" Still no.

$500 down was all that was required, a list of what you want, and the willingness to wait. My wait was 8-9 weeks from the time I put down the $500, early March put down deposit, truck showed up early part of May.

    Find the fleet manager.
