The problem you have now is that you are obliged to see just how long it'll go and that means one day it might just give up and you know Murphy will make that in the middle of the night on the coldest day of the year when you're late for a job interview dressed in your suit.

Just needs a jump pack as backup. I always have one in my truck.

Personally, I've also got two extra "house" batteries mounted in the bed of my truck so I can self jump start at the flip of a switch. I finally replaced my OEM battery at about 8 years once I started self jumping a couple times a week, lol.

If I have a job interview in the middle of the night when we hit -30, I think I'll just go back to bed and assume it was all a bad dream. Jump pack is ready, though. But, you are correct -- I am obliged and I will report back when the battery fails.

I guess the advantage might be that at least dry cells don't leak electrolyte ever so they can survive 175 years to still be around developing nanoamps.

Checked the Tacoma towing bible thread...you're just over the tongue weight and you'll need to install a transmission cooler...

Wow, if this isn't a record it's gotta be close. I have 7+ years on my car's battery and consider that amazing. I change the Tacoma's battery every 5 years because I have no desire to break down 20 miles up a 4X4 road when I might not see anyone else for two days.

Years ago, during my street bike days, I read in one of the mags, yuasa had something going on wanting people to report who had what they thought was their longest lasting battery. Trying to pull from memory, this had to be in the late 80s or early 90s, someone had a 50s bike with an oem yuasa that still worked.

After optima went to crap, I’ve gone back to interstate batteries.

Happy Birthday to my original battery, tomorrow! I could upload a fresh picture, but the only thing it would show is a little more corrosion than the picture I posted last year.
