Thought you had an overland safety system setup. No worries.

Here is my AR in the Taco. The black stuff is sound deadening.

The Arma-15 above has a post shaped like a magazine. When you unlock it and pull the AR off the post you are unloaded and the bolt is locked back. That's why I have a double mag pouch attached to the stock. One goes in the magwell. Then the pouch gets taken off and attached to my belt.

Overland stuff will be very similar to SC at first glance - the difference is in the details and electronic releases - some picatinny rail mounting options too. They sell to other parties which offer the equipment assemblies to agencies.

If I could mount things in my truck I would use Overland but I'm in a state where you can't have certain items...

I know this is an old thread but a lot of people still read it for ideas. I just finished a modification to my rear seats to make the area behind them secure to store valuables and / or firearms. I value the opinion of the Tacoma community. If it interests you, please check it out and let me know what you think.

That is a neat idea and clearly explained in the video. Well done.

Only issue I could see would be a solenoid failure. Probably a very low probability (but happened with a different solenoid I used on my tailgate) . I would put the probability of both solenoids failing at the same time at zero. Perhaps there could be a manual release accessible from the back of the seat, so as long as you could get one seat down by activating one solenoid you could manually get the other one down too.

Again, I really like the way the video was done. Easy to follow and clear. Thanks for sharing.

Magazines need to be in a pouch of some sort that is easily removable when the gun comes out, whether that be a battle belt, a bandoleer, grab and go bag or whatever. Even something inexpensive like the MidwayUSA mag pouch (ex. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/939189814) would be better than fixed mag pouches.
