    Inner and outer dust seals.
One is on the axle, the other is in the back side of the spindle.

The o-ring is usually supplied with the hubs.

If you haven't done the ECGS bushing yet, now is the time. Doing the wheel bearings, you're 80% there towards installing the bushing.

I have done 3 wheel bearings in 7 years and 100k on my taco. Never put on the seals. I have gotten to the point where i can take apart my front suspension in about 30 minutes. And I found a source of 4x4 bearings and hubs for 120 bucks. So plus one for pretty much ignoring the additional seals.

That may be the reason you have to change them so much. Dust and dirt are getting in cuz of the seals.

I believe the CV can stay in the differential. But it is not going to be easy if you are doing it yourself.
Having a buddy keep it still while you beat the new seal on helps a lot.
I didn’t replace my seal on the CV, but it was due to time constraints.
You should replace it, it helps keep water out of the bearing.

Yep, here's my post from a few months ago.

Here’s something worth mentioning. There are 3 seals per side of the truck. 1 outer and 2 inners. If you buy a bearing and hub assembly it comes with the outer seal already installed. Many people cheap out and don’t replace the inner seals, which leads to water getting into the bearing.

“Replacing the wheel bearing is an easy job. I’ve done it lots of times. I’ve got the time down to 20 minutes per side.”

These are the guys that are just slapping in bearings without doing the inner seals. That’s why they’ve done it lots of times.

Might as well throw this out there.
Depending on where you live and the condition of your truck.
You might or might not want to remove the Speed Sensor.
You should, but sometimes when you do they break off.

So I should at least do the seal on the inside of the bracket since the out seal is in the bearing assembly. And possibly but not needed to do the seal on the cv

What is this "bracket" you keep referring to? You mean the knuckle?

It’s your truck and you can do what you want, but if you want to do the best quality work possible, you need to replace both seals. The CV seal is the 1st line of defense against water intrusion. The knuckle seal is the 2nd line of defense. Like if you live in a bad neighborhood, you need to lock your doors and keep a gun by your bed. It’s not smart to leave your door unlocked, just because you’re ready to blast the crackhead.

maybe im lost now , so the o ring looking one will be inside my assembled hub. then right behind the hub assembly on the face of the knuckle is a dust shield. then directly on the backside of the knuckle is another dust shield? so i jus need 2 dust shields per side? no o ring
