    The wanderer controller is good for lead acid and AGM batteries. It also auto senses if another voltage source( like your alternator) is present and shunts the power from the solar. I can run my truck in solar only with both batteries coupled or the single auxiliary battery. It can and will keep both in good shape charge wise. If the kit you ordered has the Wanderer you will be fine. Just make sure you follow the instructions for hook up.

    I bought a 90w Coleman kit last summer and built it into a small Peli case;
    Added and extension, a few meters, and hardwired it into the RV - it can still be used with the alligator clips as well.

    It wouldn't take much to mount it on the Prinsu and wire it into the truck.

    How did you mount the panels? Those look like the "flexible" panels I've been looking at recently. How do they perform?

    I run a 50w Zamp glass panel on top of my vagabond run to my dual battery system. It works great for what I do. I don't camp at 1 spot longer than 2 days usually so I don't need a huge solar setup.

    No.. used stock battery last outing.. worked perfect.

    But I did upgrade to a X2 24 last week just in case, I sometimes leave my truck parked in the backcountry for a few weeks.

    Cheers

    It really depends on your local climate and how often you are in and out of your fridge. For most that panel kit would work fine given enough peak sun light during the day.

    I live in Denver, and see 330ish days of sun a year. I don't have the fridge yet but would only be in it on the weekends when camping and likely would not have it powered on with the exception of the day before and days during a camping trip

    I’m in Texas and my fridge is in the back seat of my truck 24/7 running at 30*F. My 100 watt panel will keep up with some so spare. If that helps.
    I also have 2 additional panels and another battery that I add into my system when I am planning a 7-10 day surf fishing trip. Keep fridge, evaporative cooler and the rest of camp running no issues.

    Wow this thread blew up since this morning, that renogy kit you guys linked is what I plan on running. I really like that hinge up idea for the RTT. Thanks for all the great info and pictures guys.

    Lets keep this thread going so anyone looking for info on solar stuff can find it.

    Question on the controllers, how hard was it to set it up or was it pretty easy with the renogy kit?

    Lol just looked at some of your build stuff. Our trucks are kind of a clone of each other.

    I cannot say this enough read the install instructions. Other than that they are dead nuts simple.

    Very good eye. We stopped there for some pics of a cow elk that was damn near in the parking lot.
