Is anyone running the H11 to H9 adapter for their fogs and low beams. I am wondering if the increased current draw would cause any problems to the wiring and housing (due the heat).

How long you been running it?

I'm running H9 bulbs in my low beams, but not using an adapter. It's a 2 minute job to modify the H9 bulb so that it'll mate up with the H11 socket. The H9 bulbs that I use are 65W, and the OE H11 bulbs were 55W. Not a huge change in current.

My truck came with H16 bulbs in the fog lights. I replaced them with H11 Nokya NOK7618 Hyper Yellow bulbs.

The adapter is not really needed. Somewhere in that thread are details of how to easily modify a H9 bulb so that you can use it in place of a H11. Takes a couple minutes per bulb.

Yea still changes the current draw tho. I was curious as to whether the increased current draw causes problems.

There is "roughly" 1 amp difference in the current drawn by a 65W bulb vs a 55W bulb. IMO it's insignificant.

Also I would buy these if I were doing it again:

    https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/162054453041

Over the ijdm ones I used originally. They are better quality imo.

You can also mod the bulb yes, but I live in Alaska so inevitably the bulbs burn out when it’s 20 below. I’d rather just have a harness so it’s plug and play which is why I made the original harness.

I've been using the adaptor cord for my lows for a little over a year, no issues that I've noticed.
