The weather yesterday was absolutely perfect.

Started things off with a chimney full of Kingsford to get a decent coal bed running. From there on I just added one of those hickory chunks every thirty mins or so.

Forgive the oily look on the smoker. I'd hit the smokewagon last week with another coat of Rustoleum grill paint. Stuff helps to keep the rust off, but leaves it dry and chalky looking. Just prior to firing up the coals I'd sprayed the outside down with canola oil. Didn't bother to wipe it down. Will do so today before rolling it back into the garage.

Didn't take long to go from the initial white smoke to get that nice thin blue goodness that stayed with me throughout the cook.

Shoulder butt went on and ran a few hours by itself.

    Ribs next.

I'd soaked some beans the night before and put them in the crockpot to simmer all day.

A pair of nekkid fatties joined the ribs & shoulder butt.

The leftover fattie made for some great sausage, egg & cheese biscuits this morning.
