Well I've decided to change out my rear suspension. The alcans will be going up for sale and they will be replaced with Dakar leafs. The main reason for the change is I adopted a st Bernard a couple weeks back and I'm already tired of lifting him in the truck. I want it to be lower with the hopes he will be able to jump in.
Here's a pic of my new wheeling buddy. Hank.

Took the alcans off today and installed the dakars. Havent drove around much but I am really liking the dakars. I also decided to remove the softopper for a while.

How soft do the Dakars feel compared to your old Alcans?

I just heard the Dakars sag some over time. I've got Alcan/Wheeler's 5 leaf pack right now and they are still at the same height.

Looks awesome though! And good looking pup!

I'll drive around on me for a couple days and get back with you on them. So far I really like them.

    Thanks man, I agree.
I would have to say the alcans felt a little softer than the dakars but I like the feel of the dakars more. Feels more planted and stable. I have also heard of some sagging but I have seen many really nice rigs that get used ALOT run the dakars and have good success with them. I have always loved OME suspension since I ran a full setup on my 3rd gen 4runner and I don't think I'm going to be dissapointed with these leafs. Only time will tell.
Thanks he is proving to be great dog. He has doubled in size since we got him 3 weeks ago! Potty trained in 1 week. Can't ask for more than that haha

The rear bumper bolts on just like the factory one does. Uses the stock brackets. I can try to snap some pics if you want.

Also while searching Craigslist I randomly found an ARB. For the price I couldn't pass it up. I ran an ARB on my 3rd gen 4runner and was very happy with it. Cant wait to get it mounted.

    Little update

Installed OME nitrocharger sport shocks today. The install was painless, me and a buddy had them on in less than an hour.*

Thanks ffirg. The back windows were factory tinted so I just had the front two tinted to match.

Right on...Apparently my truck did not come with tint from the factory, because the front and back windows are not tinted at all. :/ It's illegal to tint the front ones where I am, but back windows can as long as they let in 37% of light. Just trying to get a gauge on what that looks like.

I believe the factory tint is 15-20%. I really like the tint, i can see out at night but you can't really see in during the day.
