This thread is intended for the viewing of Discount Tire employees (its in their vendor section) but is also open for general discussion.

As my tires start to get uncomfortably bare I've been in the market for something new - research and reputation has brought me to the Hankook Mt tire, priced right and great on and off road habits.

A month ago these tires were $203 dollars from Discount. Along with a $50 online price deduction.

Less than a week ago I watched these tires go to 223 a tire. And today I go on the site, finally ready to buy, and I see the price is 233.

My main question is is there a reason these prices keep rising? Time of the year? Inflation? Increase in production costs?

A 15% increase is a pretty large jump....

    That was the online price.

I just went down to the local America's tire and bit the bullet... $1167 out the door. 220 a tire in store... Im surprised it was cheaper. I purchased the certificates for $130 but I think I'm going to cancel that before the tires are installed.

Thank you for the post 707tothe907. We appreciate your business. I'm glad to hear your local America's Tire was able to set you up.

There are a lot of factors that contribute to tire pricing. Exactly why the increase on the tires you were looking at I'm not sure.
