My next door neighbor is an 86 year old USMC Korean war veteran and after watching the documentary "Fire and Ice", I have renewed respect for the USMC what they went through in that war.

A guy at work on second shift swears by them, and said they've really upped their game on tool quality. But I haven't been there in a while.

This has been my experience with HF tools if I counted on them to keep a roof over my head would be a different story, but even then, people who do will have certain HF tools as one job or ones you abuse over the more expensive tools.

Hole saws from HF are a no go for me for anything steel. Maybe others will chime in. Id imagine they are fine for aluminum / wood / plastics.

I bought it for one small woodworking project. Worked for me and haven't used it since. I don't thing mine had a saw that big, but iI could be wrong.

Have not used them, but I'd lean against it. I have not had great luck with their drill bits. They are ok new, but loose the bite very quick. I read alot of people recommend replacing blades immediately on the band saws as well, so I'm guessing they just dont harden them as much as a bigger brand.

I use a set at work for drilling holes in desks and counters (wood, laminates etc). Too soft for steel.

maybe its just me but i like having the case style tool sets. every socket has its place and its easy to grab and go to the driveway. i dont like digging through drawers or bags to find something or have it be buried under a mess of other tools. i have one set with 1/4 and 3/8 drives and then a small 1/2 inch set. :notsure:

But the tool sets that come in specific cases are usually extra crappy tools.

I did not like my very small, disorganized tool box and went to a tool bag. Most everything I need is in there and it is easy to slip off the shelf and into the Taco for trips or projects.

    Better hurry...4 more days.

20% off that one (assuming the price on his coupon is right, $189 would be $38 off so $151ish

Opps...sorry about that. I looked too fast. Still not as low as 159, but 169 isn't too bad.

Yep, every sale I've ever seen there, which isn't to say I'm an authority on HF at all, but seems like they all come back sooner or later. Free stuff coupons go in cycles...$-off or %-off....same way.
