LOL...it's nice to break free of the Microsoft operating system and everything that goes with it.

You would have a goldmine of a business model, if you could do for computers, what HF did for tools.

    digital or analog?
I bought the analog one it was pretty accurate but the numbers wore off so I returned it.
I heard the digital one is pretty accurate, there is a guy on youtube named aVe, he did a review on it and compared it to his high end Mitutoyo. I like watching his videos he's funny as shit.

I consider torque wrenches, especially the smaller ones, to be precision instruments. Wrenching on motorcycles, your life can depend on proper torque. So I inherently would not trust a torque wrench from HF since they are built to the minimum specs to reach their price point.

Tekton wrenches are another budget torque wrench (though not as cheap as HF) but they are better quality and highly rated - even beating SnapOn and others in shootout tests. Proxxon torque wrenches are the bees knees if cost is no object.

The amount of knowledge this person has about tools, electronics, machining, metallurgy is astounding and he is genius/joker. I started watching his videos and for anyone that remembers a TV show called, "The secret life of machines" you will LOVE these videos and may even become addicted like I am too.

I wonder how similar the tools AvE uses at Princess Auto ( Canada's HF equivalent?? ) are compared to HF and if they are made at the same factory?

Don't know if it's the "best", but I have the 3 ton Low Profile steel jack and it works great. Has about 24" of lift which works well on the truck (it's not lifted) and still fits under my Porsche and Volvo. Been a good jack so far (used it maybe a dozen times).

I worked at a Harbor Freight years ago. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. Totally top heavy with retards in management. Getting named as the store manager is the kiss of death. There is no such thing as a manager at the retail level that has their job for more than 12 months. All the systems and surveillance in the store are made to watch the employees, not the customers. They hate that they have to pay employees, and they hate this country.

That being said, i will advise anyone here that is interested on how to fuck over this company. They deserve it.

First off know that you can return a horse head there. I have bought and returned compressors, air tools, presses, etc. within 48hrs, obviously using the shit out of them. Need to move? Buy some ramps and dollys, return them afterward. Buy a can of brake cleaner or a pack of sandpaper, use half of it, return it for a full refund. Goign camping? Buy a pop-up canopy, then return it with the top torn up.

Its not rent a tool, ITS LOAN ME THE TOOL FOR FREE.

Don't feel bad, the company is filled with disgusting pigs that needs to have their money drained. Ohh and i can tell you from first hand experience, employees are told not to engage anyone trying to steal from their stores, only the store manager has the authority to confront someone as they wheel out a $500 welder. Not saying to try it, but im just sayin.

All major businesses have a clear policy on employees to never decide to confront theft, and it's a smart one. You may disagree, but the next time someone stabs you in the stomach over a $6 pair of shoes you'll probably have a better understanding of how to safely manage other people.

Also this thread is about the tools not the company or your gripes about it. It has no relevance, and I don't think anybody enjoys reading the rants of former employees who can only rage about working for the devil and being surrounded by idiots, all while pretending not to be one of them.

Haven't really had any bad experiences with harbor freight tools. Definitely isn't a professional grade tool for everyday use but it gets the job done and nice to not have to worry about loosing a snap on tool while working on your rig out on a trail somewhere. The Pittsburg ratchet wrenches are a good buy for the price.
