I understand the cost to Toyota of replacing the frame or buying the truck back is the deciding factor on whether or not i get a new frame(I'm hoping for a new frame, i just bought this truck a couple months ago and don't want to go through the hassle of buying again)

So my question is: if the dealer fails it and i can't get a new frame do i at least get to take the truck home and get all my parts off of it, like topper, shocks, husky liners, etc?

I'm not 100%, but I think anything pre-2000 is a buyback. There's some other threads around that go into it more, but I'm sure you can take any of your add-ons with you before they crush it into a box.

spoke with a dealer today... he said the only dealers he knows that are still doing any of this are in Maryland. He said they don't do any of it here in Virginia because of the "harmful toxic spray", and that it was banned. I asked what that meant about the warranty and he just laughed...

I finally called my dealer and they said you have to own it for a year before they can check it. Does that sound right?

I had my 01 frame inspected in Oct. 09. At that time they said it was fine and didn't fail it, but they also didn't put any undercoat spray on it. Will this satisfy the requirement for the 15 year warranty if it should fail in the future? How often should I have the frame checked? I live near Buffalo so there is definitely plent of salt on the roads in the winter. On my Toyota owners page it shows a record of the inspection from 09, so would that be sufficient proof if something happens before 2016?

If you had it inspected under their program, then you qualify for the 15-year frame warranty extention.
I'd keep your eye on the frame and if you think a problem is happening, take it back to the dealer. You have 15 years from the time the truck was put into service.
