has anyone put a pioneer avic x910-bt into a 2nd gen

    maybe have a chance to get a pioneer avic x910-bt and was curious if anyone here has any experience with one..

    it is used.

    pros and cons of buying used?????????

    Don't buy one. It's slow as hell to start up. I bought one.....promptly returned it.

    You're welcome. Sorry to be a downer but that was a deal breaker for me. I installed the darn thing and was blown away by how long it took to start up. I was off and driving for a minute or two before any music would come out of it. Really sucked because you typically want to select a song BEFORE you start driving.

    I believe subsequent versions of the Pioneer have gotten better as they're based on Flash memory now. I think the 930 and 940 models are pretty good. Not sure about the 920.

    The 920 is still pretty slow too... I've got one

    chrome on front painted to match, satoshi grill done by myself, BHLM, billys all the way around with ome springs upfront and LR ucas with wheelers 3 leaf progressive pack in the rear, mb gunner wheels powdercoated black on 285/75r16 nitto trail grapplers, tinted all the way around and on windshield, pioneer dbl din touch screen with two 10's behing the seat and new speakers all the way around and certain interior parts painted to match, also have a road wire leather kit black with red stitching sitting here waiting for me to find time to install it!
    the newer 940 still has a slow start up but not as bad as the 910.... the 940 is about a 15 sec start up now
