As others have said, this is a necessary structural component for your Tacoma.

Feel free to remove it, but install Hammer Hangers with the cross piece before you do. Swap one (space taking stock stuff) with the other (more space conscious HH setup), but don't simply pull that piece.

A 33 will fit, just have to bend the tabs out of the way a bit. Tire hangs ridiculously low though

Horrible screen shot from a Terracrew video, but basically the whole back end of mine will like this with the frame boxed in, new crossmembers, and a recessed storage cubby like this that will take up some empty space where the stock spare sits.

Man! Seems like that ARB twin compressor would start cooking, unless you pull out all of your gear to give it some breathing room.

Meh, probably a lot cooler than in the engine bay still. Currently have my compressor in the bay, and engine bay temps are usually around ~110+ degrees on a warm day, warmer side if I've been idling for a bit. Compressor gets so hot, that I haven't been able to keep any airline from melting/blowing after only 3 tires

Is that space sealed? Looks like it’ll get tons of dirt and grit and dust whirled into all that stuff. I’m thinking of how gnarly my bedside cubbies get.

Looks decent-ish sealed, but the stock bed isnt sealed all to well, as even with a tonnuea cover on mine everything is covered in silt haha.
