Any updates to this? I'm switching wheels/tires and will be doing a five tire rotation.

    As I understand:
Buy 5th TPMS (Tirerack?) and note the serial
Have TPMS removed from stock wheels and installed in new set and fifth in spare.
Buy OBDII cable and use Techstream/Carista to manually change the serial numbers when rotating tires.

That’s pretty much the only way I’ve had success.

Are you sure that the computer won't automatically update any new sensors once mounted on the truck and driven? I recently bought new aftermarket wheels/tires and installed a new set of OEM toyota TPMS sensors. My original TPMS remained on the stock wheels. I never had the new TPMS registered to my truck, yet the tire pressure monitor system works fine. I have confirmed this many times after airing down and inflating one side at a time to see if it was working properly which it appears to be.

I bought the new OEM sensor set online (dealership never programmed it) and the tires were mounted on the wheels at a local tire shop. However, the tire shop never had the truck as I dropped off the tires/wheels to be mounted, picked them up and mounted them myself several days later.

About to buy a 5th wheel/tire for spare to be rotated in and purchasing one OEM TPMS. Will see if the new TPMS is recognized automatically without programming even though the preceding posts seem to suggest not.

In my case, I drove around for just shy of a week with the new TPMS rotated in without programming via TechStream. Speeds all the way up to up to 80 mph and it never recognized the pressure. Always just the -- on the screen in that one location. That did include many TPMS reset button pushes.

Anyone know where I can download Tech-stream? Is there a fee to download and can I use a Mac laptop? Thanks.
