It's like a 15 minute canister that you are supposed to set off, close the doors, and walk away. Guaranteed 30 days of nice smelling vehicle, or so the box says.

    ...

    PXL_20220911_003842048.jpg

I haven't even checked inside the truck yet. The entire garage smells like a combination of new car and sex panther cologne. Not kidding. It stings the nostrils. It's starting to seep into the house.

    :help:

    Has anyone done this?

    upload_2022-9-10_19-55-55.jpg

I'm sitting a good 30 feet away in the living room with two walls separating me from the truck and my eyes are still watering.

Dear lord, what have I done?

IIRC it uses O-zone to neutralize odors which is why you're not supposed to be in the vehicle or even near it and not supposed to do it in a garage, it can fuck you up good.

O-zone degrades plastics and rubbers of which there are a lot of in a vehicle...

I did it once in a car, it did camouflage the smells ish but it also smelled like "Vague Chemical ™" up until that car finally met it's end.

The brand I used was Ozium.

    2/10 would not do again.

I wasn't expecting it to be great either but it was a beater I didn't give a shit about, I sincerely hope you didn't just bork yourself or something you do care about.

Same. I habitually leave it overnight with the windows down. But after five years of abuse, even with vacuuming, it still stinks.

    Will not try again.

Folex and Kids'n'Pets upholstery cleaner is typically what I detail with for stains and odors.

The best odor removal tool is a professional grade steam extractor, worth having a reputable detailer do it for you IMHO, the machines can be pretty pricey for a once in a blue moon thing.

This one promised to counteract the other type of odor bomb.

You'll get much better results from an ozone machine. They're around $100 on Amazon.

Shit. I just realized I left my work laptop in there. I'm going to have to explain why my computer stinks at the Monday ops meeting.

This is what you need OP. My wifes works at a dealership and gets them for me. You basically pour chlorine on a sponge and let it sit for 6 hours. Removes every smell imaginable and yes it smells like chlorine for a while but it actually chemically cleans the air.

In all seriousness, I have found if you want to remove any and all bad odors, put a sheet of bounce (the fabric softener) under your seat for a few days. I have been doing that for years.
