I did a search and saw two references. If yo had that happen to you I am very curious as to what caused it, how much damage it did and did Toyota step up.

I have a 2010 TRD Sport that hasn't been off road or abused. Last Friday I was headed home in a real frog strangler and ran through standing water on the freeway at about 45 or 50 mph. I was at traffic speed, everyone else went through it and it wasn't deep enough to even make the truck thnk about hydroplaning.

The truck immediately sounded like the rear end was coming apart. The water bent the leading edge nose of the heat shild back into the drive shaft, cut the rubber boot and because you can't buy just the boot caused $1600 in damage.

I'd love to hear any experiences you have had.

    Thanks
