    Hey All,

I know there are a number of OBX surf-fishers on the forum. I'm looking for bait tips, as well as any general advice you may have to offer. My brother-in-law and I plan on fishing the surf at the end of the month (8/23-8/30). Ideally we'd bring in something we could turn into dinner. Any advice is appreciated.

    Thanks!

I live near the outerbanks (New Bern) and normally just use typical cut bait or shrimp and toss it out there. I haven't been fishing around Hatteras in a while though and rusty on the top spots but I usually tossed in at the channel between Hatteras and Shackleford Banks. I was recently told a good location by the Brodie light house but that's a ways away from where you'll be.
