It's a great little car to drive, and it always surprises me how it manages to maintain grip. The mid engine also makes it interesting when the back end does step out, as its more of a pivot than a pendulum, if that makes sense. I get shit from older MR2 owners cause they all hate the spyder, but it makes me smile

Yes, I had a supercharged (factory) 1st gen (but only for about 5000 miles). I'll just say if the weather is even close to questionable driving a mid engine (pre stability control) with cruise set & crossing an ice patch on an otherwise perfectly clear road on a clear sunny day WILL wake you up.

That's not even a way I've ever seen the term White Knight used, and if people use it here in that manner I feel like they may be confused. A White Knight is typically someone who immediately leaps to the defense of some female in the hopes that they'll get positive attention from said female for it. I can see how you could construe our trucks as the female, but there's no possible affection to be gained because even though some of us wank it to our rigs, at the end of the day they aren't chicks lol.

I went back and forth between the Taco and the Sienna. The Sienna has 296 horsepower and you can put a lift on it. upload_2017-5-3_13-56-12.jpg

Still not sure if I made the right choice.

2016 TRD Sport Access Cab. No regrets here at all.

After looking for over a year for a good, reasonably equipped 2nd gen Taco and seeing them hover in the high teens' mid twenty-thousand range, I figured new was the better deal. I think the 3rd gens look 100% better than the 2nd gens, and the whole truck just feels more upscale.

This is my first Tacoma and first Toyota, I was/am a Honda guy. Traded a mint condition S2000 that I'd owned for 12 years for my Taco and I don't miss the S. So far, not a single issue with my truck but I don't DD it. I have a Civic Hybrid for commuting so the truck I drive on the weekends or the occasional weekday. I enjoy every minute in the Taco.

Don't be scared off. Any mass produced vehicle will have the occasional flaw. I know lots of Jeep guys and I've heard some real horror stories; leaking front and rear diffs, unwelded/unsealed body seams, death wobble, bad relays, switches and other electronic gremlins, and probably a lot of other stuff. They still love their Jeeps though. My only point is, in comparison to most of the other options, the Tacoma is a great value and product and the resale/value is undeniable.

I just never thought I would have so many problems with a Toyota! I don't think I would ever go back to Toyota after this experience. I certainly will avoid the Tacoma from here on out.

^^hmm^^ I've heard that before capitan, and they always come back when they realize the grass isn't always greener on the other dealers lot

    Hope that helps

Chinese steel and third world sourced parts put together by a $16 a day "Auto Worker" down in Mexico sounds like a bad mix.

Cut quality, cut labor cost and almost double the price in ten years has profits soaring to record highs.

Good deals on the Frontier this month....power like my 2Gen and I see they offer power seats and disk brakes in the rear...Probably could trade out into a 17 Frontier for close to even. The reason I keep buying Toyota is I like the local dealer and the perception is that Nissan is less than. Not sure if that's because it's out marketed by Toyota 10-1...Seems like Toyota has a better marketing model. I did drive a Honda recently and it drives so much like an Accord, I forgot it was a pickup. Reminds me of the old El Camino.

traded my '07 silver sport ac, at for a '17 Barcelona Red 2 weeks ago, very happy with new truck. honestly I loved the old one too. I was planning on at least another 1-2 years with the '07. the deal worked for me and the new truck has more options, better gas mileage. the drivetrain is much different but I will get used to it.
