Just can't seem to find an aftermarket key fob cover for the 3rd Gen (simple SR config)-any help would be appreciated.

A bunch of ones that are for the 4 button keys like that but I haven't seen any for the 3 button remotes

No problem. I mean this vehicle has been out for almost(?) a year. Just trying to avoid the dealer parts department-and they seem to have no clue anyway. I can see that finding accessories for the SR trim might be a bit harder than the SR5 (for example) going forward. Mud flaps are special for it as well as the SR does not have the fender flares.

    "A key fob cover"............
I did not know I even needed one of those....is this like a condom for your "fob"?... It sounds like Toyota should have known we would ALL require one of these...!! Practising "safe" entry to your vehicle is sooo important..! HEHE

Sorry... I could not resist..!! Each to their own, I guess...:crapstorm:

Some guys like shoving their key into the holes instead of doing it the modern way. I've seen some of these holes and they are pretty dirty. The owners rarely ever clean the holes. They usually never lube them. Even all that and I guess the bigger concer is the abuse of the owner just beating the thing around. Flopping it up on the table, dropping them out of his pants. God forbid it ever feel into a deep dark wet hole. I could see why you would want to have some protection on that thing!

Ever drop your keys into a sewer drain before?

OK OK thanks for the punishment-I deserve every jab. Don't really like the fobs in the first place-They just get thrashed after awhile and I am sure Toyota doesn't give them out for free. I'll check out the RAV4 and Corolla options.

    ...^^^... That's like mine too.

FYI .. My key fell apart in my pocket at Home Depot. When I put my hand in my pocket and pulled out my key ring, the parts fell on the floor and under a giant pile of lumber. I found enough pieces to put it back together and make it work. Still missing the red button. Off to Toyota to get a new key.

I now have a new reason to put on those silicone key covers like Honda dealers sell. If I would have had a key cover, my key would have stayed together.

have you ever had one John?
They're usually made out of a silicone rubber compound. They say its anti slip so if you leave the key on your dash or something it doesn't slide all over. It still usually slides, instead they usually make it a bitch to get out of your pocket. All the ones I've had just stick to your pocket and collect lint. usually ends up pulling your whole pocket out with it.
