Hawk HPS or LTS Pads?

    I'm going to get a set of Hawk pads for my truck along with stainless steel lines. I've used Hawk HPS pads before on my 350Z and I like them. It looks like both the HPS and LTS pads are available for the Gen 2 Tacomas. Has anyone tried both and found one to be better? My goal is to increase brake response and tighten up the mushy brake pedal.

    I am in the same boat, I had them on my Mini in conjuction with some Powerslot rotors, and I was looking at looking into them:confused:

    Just reading their website it sounds like the Hawk ceramic pads are an improvement over OE but they seem to focus more on its very low brake dust qualities. Increased stopping power is the key point with HPS pads. I looked through all the tech docs and FAQs on that site and could not find any comparisons between the various pads. They do list pad compounds and their qualities in the motorsports section but these do not include the street pads that we're talking about.

    getting there....
    im running a set of the hawk lts pads with some slotted rotors. they stop really well, and leave barely any brake dust.....quiet too.

    I decided to go with the HPS pads. I would rather stick to what I know rather than try out the LTS pads. I got them from AutoAnything.com with Goodridge SS brake lines. Both pads and lines were 10% off with the recent sale they had and free shipping. Came out to $171 total.

    Looking foward to installing them! I've done SS brake line installations on motorcycles before and bleeding them can be a PITA unless the lines are pre-charged. I'm going to install and bleed one line at a time instead of trying to get fluid into 4 dry lines.

    I had HPS pads on my Honda Accord and plan on getting them for my Tacoma too. Great stopping power and not much fading when used with Powerslot rotors. The only possible downside is that they don't work well when cold.

    AFAIK they do not make a powerslot for the 2nd Gen (this being the 2nd gen forum and all). Their applications stop at 2004.

    I searched for a 2005 access cab w/o TPMS and they came back as a result. Tirerack better not be getting my hopes up
